Race Tracker Redesign web design/data visualization | National Journal | November 2015
Redesign of National Journal’s Race Tracker tool, which uses data from multiple sources to allow users to track candidates’ polling and see detailed breakdowns of campaign finance data. This was my second redesign of Race Tracker, necessitated by the overall National Journal redesign. The branding needed a refresh, and the web development team also took the opportunity to incorporate new ways of cutting the data. Along with allowing the user to view data by race and candidate, we added pages for political parties, pollsters, interest groups and donors. We also incorporated data for the presidential race, which provided a unique design challenge because of the size of the Republican primary field at the time.
